Mental Health Moment | Change Happens

Change happens, and it may seem like things are just changing, constantly, too often, and too fast, at times. You may want things to go back to "the way they were." But change is how growth happens, and change is necessary for healing as well, so it isn't necessarily a bad thing. Change is what gives us things in life to look forward to, and it causes us to make plans and be flexible. There's something wonderful about comfort, and we crave it at times. But going out of our comfort zone is how we discover all the other things in life that we may not ever see, if we stayed in one place. When change seems overwhelming, and unending, and you're looking for some stability, security and comfort, just think about the things that are the same in your life. Focus on the ones that bring you a sense of foundation, and then try to embrace the things that seem like they're whirling around you, knowing that bits and pieces of dust and debris will eventually settle, and begin to feel comfortable to you. Allow change, while holding on to the things that keep you grounded.
